#1 Methods to create a customized Linux GUI (Desktop) from scratch

Use a fundamental Linux base and set up some programs to make a desktop on the other hand you wish to have. See my different movies on additional customization!
(CLICK / SHOW MORE / FOR A LIST OF COMMANDS!)

The bottom Ubuntu I put in is the Ubuntu MinimalCD. You’ll in finding the ISO right here:
https://lend a hand.ubuntu.com/neighborhood/Ins…

To put in all of the programs I am the use of “sudo apt set up” and the programs I set up, within the order I set up them are:

lightdm
openbox-gnome-session
openbox
gnome-terminal
obmenu
gedit
tint2
docky
nitrogen
ubuntu-wallpapers
pcmanfm
lxappearance
xcompmgr
firefox
pavucontrol
volti
gconf-editor

The report you wish to have to create/edit for openbox autostart instructions is situated at ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh

The report you wish to have to create/edit to robotically login is situated at /and so on/lightdm/lightdm.conf (Should be root to edit/create this report).

Whilst that is “virtually” from scratch, I haven’t any aim of actually going utterly from scratch, AKA, compiling the kernel and so on. Such a lot of issues cross improper! LOL
