Desktop

#1 How you can create a customized Linux GUI (Desktop) from scratch

Use a elementary Linux base and set up some programs to make a desktop then again you need. See my different movies on additional customization!
(CLICK / SHOW MORE / FOR A LIST OF COMMANDS!)

The bottom Ubuntu I put in is the Ubuntu MinimalCD. You’ll be able to in finding the ISO right here:
https://assist.ubuntu.com/group/Ins…

To put in all of the programs I am the use of “sudo apt set up” and the programs I set up, within the order I set up them are:

lightdm
openbox-gnome-session
openbox
gnome-terminal
obmenu
gedit
tint2
docky
nitrogen
ubuntu-wallpapers
pcmanfm
lxappearance
xcompmgr
firefox
pavucontrol
volti
gconf-editor

The report you need to create/edit for openbox autostart instructions is positioned at ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh

The report you need to create/edit to mechanically login is positioned at /and so on/lightdm/lightdm.conf (Will have to be root to edit/create this report).

Whilst that is “virtually” from scratch, I don’t have any aim of in reality going totally from scratch, AKA, compiling the kernel and so on. Such a lot of issues pass mistaken! LOL
